Guest Speaker: Gary Preysner, Strategic Risk Associates

Gary R. Preysner, of Strategic Risk Associates, is an exceptionally effective change agent and executive who combines broad strategic consulting expertise with senior-level corporate line experience. Gary is widely seen as a leading-edge thinker and an executive confidante to many of the world’s largest and most respected insurance companies and has consistently introduced new and novel concepts and business practices to the world of insurance and manufacturing. Mr. Preysner began his career at General Electric as a finance and operations manager in several of GE’s heavy industry service and manufacturing businesses. During his subsequent seven years at McKinsey & Company, he worked on numerous financial and operational improvement projects with domestic and international insurers and investment banks. He spearheaded about two dozen post-merger integration projects for clients, including rationalizing a 1,000+ branch banking network. He led several pioneering projects that applied Activity Based Costing methodologies to financial institutions, including trading operations, retail lending, and Information Technology areas. Mr. Preysner was one of the original creators of Strategic Sourcing and one of the first to apply sourcing techniques within the P&C and Life/Health Insurance industries. As a founding partner of the Mitchell Madison Group, Mr. Preysner created the firm’s insurance practice de novo, introducing new sourcing strategies to claims and other areas, thus generating $25 million in consulting revenues within the first year. Mr. Preysner also headed Aon Corporation’s NYC consulting operations. Mr. Preysner received his BA and MBA degrees from Yale University and also studied at the Uniwersytet Jagiellonski in Krakow, Poland. He has also been a graduate-level MBA lecturer and instructor in Operations Research and Quantitative Methods at the Tataglia School of Business of Albertus Magnus University in New Haven, CT. Mr. Preysner is also a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
