Axa Restructures Casualty Leadership

BI - March 11, 2022 - Axa XL, a unit of France’s Axa SA, said Friday it has promoted national, zonal and product leaders within its primary casualty business to align underwriting teams more closely to Axa XL’s U.S. regional operating model.

Theresa Schlageter, based in San Francisco, was named head of U.S. risk management for primary casualty, Americas. Joe Bonica, New York, was named head of East zone, U.S. risk management; Jason Mandik, Chicago, head of central zone, U.S. risk management; Charles Lee, Los Angeles, head of West zone, U.S. risk management and multinational casualty; and Adrian Jackson, Atlanta, product line leader, primary casualty, Americas.

Ms. Schlageter will also assume broader oversight of Axa XL’s U.S. risk management business.

All of the roles are newly created positions and report to Chris Kopser, president and CUO, primary casualty, Americas, according to an email from a spokeswoman.

Aligning the primary casualty regional leadership with the company’s U.S. zonal teams improves access to brokers and products, Mr. Kopser said in the Friday statement.

Axa XL’s primary casualty insurance team provides primary insurance programs for U.S., Canadian and global companies, including general liability, excess commercial auto, foreign voluntary workers compensation and employers’ liability.
