QBE North America Appoints Dan Moore Chief Operating Officer

PropertyCasualty 360 - April 6, 2020 - QBE North America appointed Dan Moore as chief operating officer. In this role, he will lead claims, technology and operations and oversee communications and branding, with the goal of strengthening QBE’s performance and customer-centered approach for delivering integrated risk management solutions.

Reporting to QBE North America CEO Todd Jones, Moore will also serve as a member of the company’s executive committee.

Of all the responsibilities that Moore now oversees, he says “we’re highly focused on making sure our large-scale technology and infrastructure projects go well, because those are what will position us for the future and enable our underwriters, claims professionals and other market-facing staff to spend more time with customers and respond to customers more effectively.”

Moore’s appointment is just the latest in a string of recent high-level appointments. He says that there’s no “dominant reason” for the recent changes but that some have been the result of people moving around within the company as “they take on new challenges.”

Past experience - Moore joined QBE in 2013 as senior vice president, claims services. He had been serving as the chief operating officer on an interim basis since January 30 of this year. Before that, he served as head of operations since August 2018.

“I’m really proud of the great people we have at QBE and in our claims, technology and operations organization. We have an exciting opportunity to align people, platforms, and processes in a way that supports and grows our relationships with customers, while enabling our businesses and shared services to be more effective and efficient at connecting with, and serving, the needs of customers,” says Moore.
