NAS Insurance Returns to the Employment Practices Liability Insurance Market

February 4, 2019 - Encino, CA: NAS Insurance today announced its return to the EPLI market with a new 3-in-1 Management Liability product for small businesses.

NAS’ Management Liability policy will offer coverage options for Employment Practices Liability, Directors & Officers Liability and Fiduciary Liability for companies with up to 50 employees.

"In response to growing requests from brokers around the country, we are excited to be able to provide a more modern solution for today’s workplace,” remarks NAS Chief Underwriting Officer, Mike Palotay. “And we’re glad to have Michael Kinsley on board to help drive the product forward.” Michael Kinsley joins NAS as AVP, Specialty Underwriting, for the new Management Liability suite of products.

“I’m honored to be part of the NAS team – the pioneers in Employment Practices Liability, and help grow the business," remarks Kinsley. Kinsley joins the NAS Specialty Insurance team from prior underwriting roles at OneBeacon and E-Risk services.

NAS is widely recognized as the creator of the employment practices liability product over 25 years ago and it quickly became the gold standard for the industry. Although NAS stepped out of open market distribution of EPLI in 2016, it continued to write this product on a reinsurance and buy-up basis for other carriers that wanted a solution for their professional liability or BOP coverage. As these programs continued to run well and the market hardened for EPL and D&O coverage, NAS decided to return to the open market with a focus on providing a full complement of Management Liability solutions for businesses with under 50 employees.

“In addition to the robust policy,” says Kinsley, “NAS policyholders will also have access to expert risk management services that provide unlimited phone support for HR-related issues and online access to training and other resources to help businesses avoid costly employment and D&O claims.”

NAS Insurance is a full-service specialty insurance underwriting manager that provides innovative product development, underwriting, marketing, risk management, and claims handling services for a broad range of specialty products that are distributed as both insurance and reinsurance solutions.
