Target University

Target University pngThe mission of Target University is to further promote Best Practices in program administration, enhance the status of Program Business in the insurance industry and recognize the specialized skill sets of Program Specialists. The University was developed through the efforts of the TMPAA Board and committee of TMPAA members who served as advisors on course development. Courses are taught by your program peers and professionals actively working in this industry segment.

Update regarding Target University and the Certified Programs Leader (CPL) Designtion

The TMPAA has partnered with The Institutes to further enhance the educational experience for program insurance professionals. You are likely familiar with The Institutes and their current designations including the CPCU, ARM, ARe, and others. Over the last few months, The Institutes and TMPAA have been developing and updating content that will be included in a new Programs designation. It will encompass program-specific education that exists in Target University courses, as well as courses currently offered by The Institutes. This will allow members to use some of the courses taken for the Programs designation to cross over to other designations offered by The Institutes, like the CPCU. Additionally, individuals can use some of the courses in the new designation for Continuing Education (CE) credits.

While we are working to finalize the curriculum and course material, we have decided to pause on any “new” CPL starts within the existing University. We expect to have the material completed in the next few months and will announce the new designation in partnership with The Institutes at our 2024 Mid-Year Meeting in May.
