Balavant hands Bernard and Kyjovsky senior leadership roles after Tangram spin-out

Balavant Insurance Group, the newly formed MGA platform housing the recently spun out Tangram, said it has promoted two senior leaders to strengthen its underwriting and program development capabilities as the MGA platform expands. 

The company said on September 24 that Tracy Bernard has been named Cheif Program Officer where she will overse development and underwriting strategy across Balavant and its portfolio firms, including Tangram Insurance Services. Bernard joined Tangram in 2018 and has lef program strategy and data-driven product initiatives. 

Tangram also promoted Krissy Kyjovsky to executive vice president, with responsibility for underwriting, operations, sales and agency functions. Kyjovsky, who started her career at Tangram as an underwiting assistant, has been with the firm for more than a decade. 

"As Chief Program Officer, Tracy's talent around product development and underwriting strategy will shape the next chapter of our evolution and ensure we remain at the forefront of innovation in the MGA space," said Rekha Skantharaja, president and CEO Balavant. 

Balavant last week also announced the hires of former Brown & Brown executive Michael Sothen as Chief Financial Officer and former Hippo executive Omeed Kazemi as Chief Operating Officer.
