Novel Coronavirus Update

As our members make decisions about conducting business safely while navigating concerns about viral infection threats, we wanted to share information about the 2020 Mid-Year Meeting in Tampa.

Our current plans are to hold this event as scheduled.  We have made changes to our registration policy that would allow individuals to cancel without penalty should travel restrictions or health concerns prevent attending.  Hotel reservations can be cancelled 72 hours prior to arrival without penalty.

The Association is developing precautionary measures to ensure the safety of all 2020 Mid-Year Meeting attendees.

As of March 3, 2020, the following protocols have been established:

  • Hotel staff will disinfect anything a traveler would touch frequently, this can include but is not limited to, the call buttons in elevators, light switches, door handles, toilets, telephones and the reception counter several times each day during the event.
  • Sanitizer and tissues will be provided during the event throughout the meeting spaces and common areas.
  • A no handshake policy will be encouraged.
  • Hotel staff will serve food items, minimizing use of common serving implements.
  • Attendees who are not well are urged not to attend.

We understand that individuals in high risk groups may make the informed decision not to attend. The TMPAA will work with these members to help mitigate their losses and make the connections inside our group they require to run and/or improve their business.

Both the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have posted safety recommendations you should review.

You can expect updates to our planning as new information becomes available.
