Tassone brings over four decades of insurance industry experience, spanning underwriting leadership, program development, and strategic management. Since joining AM Specialty in 2023 as chief underwriting officer, he has played a central role in shaping the company's US underwriting strategy, driving profitable growth and advancing its specialty capabilities across targeted lines of business.

Prior to joining AM Specialty, Tassone served as vice president of underwriting at Spinnaker Insurance Company, where he oversaw underwriting operations for multiple program partnerships. He also held senior executive positions at Aspen Insurance Group, leading the U.S. Program Division as executive vice president.

In his new role, Tassone will guide ASIC US through its next phase of growth, focusing on technical underwriting excellence, disciplined portfolio management, and expanding partnerships with brokers and managing general agents (MGAs). His leadership is expected to support the company’s commitment to sustainable underwriting performance and long-term profitability in a competitive specialty market.

Shevawn Barder will continue to serve as group CEO of AM Specialty Insurance Group, where she will oversee the group’s overall strategic direction, including its international operations.

The appointment comes amid a period of growing demand for specialty insurance solutions, as insurers and reinsurers seek to balance capacity deployment with heightened risk complexity. Tassone’s promotion reinforces AM Specialty’s goal to build a resilient, data-driven specialty underwriting platform that delivers consistent value to clients, partners, and stakeholders across its expanding US footprint.
