Friend has more than 15 years of experience in the industry having worked across several disciplines, including broker/account manager, claims processing and technical underwriting.

Friend spent nearly half of his career focused exclusively on property underwriting while at Diamond State Group Property Brokerage, part of Global Indemnity Group. He was last an underwriter III for property in the Midwest territory before joining the newly formed GBLI national cannabis industry specialty team. Early in his career he played an integral role in a newly launched independent insurance agency focused on apartments and low income housing programs in the greater Philadelphia region.
