DC Run 01


Join Retired Navy SEAL Commander Coleman Ruiz on Monday, May 15 at 7:30 AM for the TMPAA Monument Run


Mr. Ruiz will take registered Mid-Year Meeting attendees who would like to participate on a (light and slow) run that will stop at the Jefferson, FDR, MLK, Lincoln, WWII and Washington Monuments. Expect a leadership highlight at each monument, unique to each person and its context in history.

DIRECTIONS: From the metro stop at Crystal City (at the event hotel) take the Blue Line to the Smithsonian stop. The group will meet at the corner of 12th Street SW and Independence Avenue (map).

Coleman Ruiz

Mr. Ruiz is a former US Naval Officer in the Naval Special Warfare community (Navy SEALs). He spent 13 years on active duty across increasing levels of responsibility, including six operational combat deployments in both the Afghanistan and Iraq theaters of war, in both troop and joint task force command. His final tour of duty was part of the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG) in Virginia Beach, one of the U.S. military’s most elite Special Forces units. While at NSWDG he led hundreds of operations and sensitive military programs requiring coordination across the most senior levels of the U.S. government, including serving two U.S. Ambassador’s in both Yemen and Kenya.

Mr. Ruiz graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Mathematics and earned an MBA in Finance at the Government School of Business & Public Policy at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA.  Read full bio...
